Obituary

Winifred Lucille Danks passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at Denton Regional Medical Center in Denton, Texas, at the age of 69 years.

Winifred was the daughter of Kenneth Coburn & Gladys (White) Coburn. She was born on December 8, 1940, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. The family moved when Winifred was a young child to Texas, where she was brought up in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. She was a 1960 graduate of Sunset High School in Oak Cliff. She was married to Gene Crowdis and they were parents of one son, Robert. She was later married to Gary Dixon, and to Robert Danks.

Meredith made her home in Dallas most of her life, and worked for the Xerox Corporation, retiring in 2002. After retiring, she moved to Holdenville and lived there for eight years, then returned to Texas in March of 2010 to be near her son. Her favorite pastime was playing computer games, and Bingo. She loved collecting stuffed bears.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece, Christie Coburn.

She is survived by her son, Robert, of Dallas, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles & Nita Coburn of Garland, Texas; nephew, Glenn Coburn and wife Kay, of Dallas; great-niece, Claire Coburn of Dallas; aunt Iva Horn of Holdenville; numerous other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 31, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church in Holdenville, and Winifred will be laid to rest in the Holdenville Cemetery. Rev. Chuck Rettig is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are Kenneth Conn, Paul Roan, Raymond Camp, Jim Salazar, Kenn Conn, Jr. and Glenn Coburn.
