William 'Bill' Capps was born to Loris C. and Bessie (Farris) Capps August 14, 1931 in Hughes County, Oklahoma. Bill was in the US army at the end of WW II. He was recalled back in 1955 for 2 years.

Bill married Ruth Morris of Lamar, Oklahoma in January of 1956. Bill loved to work and tinker with old cars and most anything that had a motor. He loved to farm his land and stayed busy with his hands. He was good at anything his hands would touch. Bill loved to sit and talk about the old times, and you could ask him anything and he could answer for you.

Bill passed away in Holdenville on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at the age of 85 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loris C. and Bessie Capps, his son; Sandy Ray Capps and his brother; Bobby Capps.

Bill leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Ruth Capps of Spaulding, his son, Rev. Michael Capps and his wife Brenda of Bakersfield, California, and his brother, Jack Capps and wife Erika, of Urbandale, Iowa. Bill was the proud Grandpa to 7 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Bill was proud of Michael who holds a Master's degree as an RN, holds credentials with the Apostolic Assembly of Faith in Jesus Christ and holds 4 Doctorate degrees.

Bill Attended the First Church of God in Holdenville.

Memorial Services were held on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the First Church of God in Holdenville with Pastor Jon Ewers officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were Michael Capps, Jr., Joseph Capps, Shannon Pettis, Glen Jones, Billy McClain, Denver Dawson, Joey Barnes and Tom Morris.
