Vernon Lee Tripp passed away at his home in Sasakwa, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the age of 68 years.

Vernon was the son of William & Pearl Caroline (Casey) Tripp, born on June 1, 1955, in Yeager, Oklahoma, where he was brought up and attended schools. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, and worked many years as a carpenter owning and operating his own business, Vernon Tripp Carpentry. He married Linda House on May 14, 1991. They made their home in Sasakwa and enjoyed 28 years together before Linda passed away on January 4, 2019.

Vernon loved fishing, and especially enjoyed smoking Kool filter king cigarettes.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Tripp; two sisters, Cleady Johnson and Bernice McGee; two brothers, William Lee Tripp and Leon Dale Tripp.

He is survived by three children: William Tripp of Goddard KS, Tony Trip of FL, and Veronica Tripp of Goddard KS; four stepsons: Kenny House, Larry House (Stacey), all of Sasakwa, Russell House (Minnie) of Porum, and Wade House (Karen) of Holdenville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Brian Tripp (Ellen) of Zion IL; two sisters, Georgie Lewis of Bowlegs and Betty Jean Coleman of Oklahoma City; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Graveside services were held and Vernon was laid to rest at Yeager Cemetery at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023.
