Tommy Joe 'Tom' Boren passed away at his home in Atwood, Oklahoma on Tuesday evening, March 15, 2011, at the age of 72 years.

Tom was the son of Stacy & Viola Boren, born on October 19, 1938, in Atwood, Oklahoma. He was brought up in the Atwood area and graduated Calvin High School in 1955. He worked for several years in the oilfield before starting his own business, Boren Concrete Construction Company, which he owned and operated for more than 40 years. He enjoyed relaxing and visiting with friends, and spent a lot of time every year growing a big garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Thomas Bradley Boren; one brother, 'Wimp' Boren.

He is survived by his companion of 18 years, Mary Felicioni of Holdenville; one daughter and son-in-law, Tonya & John Massad of Holdenville; one grandson, Billy Boren, currently serving in the U.S. military, and one granddaughter Shandra Massad on Ada, Oklahoma; one brother, Bobby Boren, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; two stepchildren, Mona Renfrow and husband Carl of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Stan Factor of Holdenville; two step-grandchildren, Destiny Renfrow and Matthew Renfrow, both of Yukon; various other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 19, 2011, 1:30 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel, and Tom will be laid to rest in the Atwood Cemetery, with R. L. Vinson officiating. Pallbearers are Jim Murray, Clyde Byerly, David McIntosh, Carl Renfrow, Henry Factor, and Keith Williams.
