Obituary

Tommy Dean Grizzle Sr. passed away in Norman, Oklahoma on June 24, 2013, at the age of 70 years.

Tommy was the son of Leroy & Betty (Greenwood) Grizzle, born on April 8, 1943, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was brought up in the Witty community and attended schools and churches in the Hughes County area, including Pecan Grove School.

He moved to Corona, California as a teenager in 1961, and worked for many years in dry wall and as an auto mechanic, before returning to Oklahoma. He married Peggy Tiger in 2008 in Atwood. Tommy worked as a carpenter most of his life. He enjoyed driving race cars in his younger years, and always loved to fish.

He is preceded in death by his father, Leroy Grizzle.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of the home; his mother, Betty Grizzle of Holdenville; six children: Tommy Grizzle Jr., Kim Grizzle, Malinda Lindley, Twila Grizzle, Jason Grizzle and wife Kim, and Tammy Payne and husband Cody, 27 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, all of Holdenville; one brother, Bruce Grizzle and wife Dina of Corona, California, and one sister, Linda Oponte and husband John, of Mission Viejo, California. Tommy came from a huge family and leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, various other relatives, and too many friends in this world to mention. We will meet again some day in Heaven. Love lasts forever.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of Refuge in Holdenville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013. Rev. Jimmie Freeman and Rev. James Williams are the officiating ministers.
