Obituary

Tanya Sue (Moore) Sams passed away at her home in Holdenville on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the age of 46 years.

Tanya was the daughter of Lee Moore Jr. & Hudalia (Adkerson) Moore, born on September 23, 1969, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, where she was brought up and attended schools, graduating Holdenville High School with the Class of 1989. She moved to Alabama, where she lived for ten years. She was married to Johnny Sams on September 23, 2004. She returned to Holdenville after Johnny passed away on September 30, 2009.

Tanya was always a homemaker at heart, and loved taking care of her three boys. Some of her favorite things were dancing, playing dominoes, listening to R&B music, and watching the Oklahoma Thunder play basketball. She loved animals of every kind. She was dearly loved, and she will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lee Moore, Jr.; her husband, Johnny Sams; one sister, Linda Brown; two nephews, Galand Moore and Kevin Moore.

She is survived by three sons: Che Moore of Holdenville, Richard Farbes III of Seminole, and D'Angelo Moore of Holdenville; her mother, Hudalia Moore of Holdenville; five sisters: Annette Moore of Seminole, Dorothy Jackson of Birmingham AL, Selena Lovett of Birmingham AL, Valerie Moore of Holdenville, and Gloria Moore of Birmingham AL; six brothers: Virgil Moore of Holdenville, Kevin Moore of Seminole, Kenny Moore of Holdenville, Gregory Moore of Birmingham AL, Kirk Moore and James Moore, both of Holdenville; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 28, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at New Covenant Ministry in Holdenville, and Tayna will be laid to rest at Buckner Cemetery. Rev. Keith Hardwick is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are Andrew Moore, J. R. Acey, Dylan Moore, Khalia Moore, Trevon Ramsey, and Thomas King.
