Obituary

Stanley Phillip Rodgers passed away in Midwest City, Oklahoma on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at the age of 71 years.

Stanley was the son of Noble Phillip Rodgers & Arzella Mae (Reeves) Rodgers, born on June 7, 1946, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, where he was brought up and attended schools. He was married in Okmulgee on February 10, 1968, to Mary Rita Richardson, who preceded him in death.

Stanley was a truck driver. He drove for thirty years, local and cross country, and hauled gasoline for nine years in the Fort Smith area before he retired in 1997. He enjoyed collecting 18-wheeler models, playing TV games and watching Cop movies, and one of his favorite things was tearing up and stripping copper. He lived in Tulsa and in Fort Smith, Arkansas, before making his home in Seminole.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Noble & Arzella Rodgers; one brother, Noble 'Gene' Rodgers, and two sisters, Linnia Faye Rodgers and Pamela Ann Rodgers; his wife of 27 years, Rita Richardson Rodgers; identical twin grandsons.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Anita Williamson, of the home; two children, William Phillip Rodgers (Darla) of Holdenville, and Tammy Wynette Rodgers (Jerry) of Hartford AR; four grandchildren: Rita Rodgers, Ryan Rodgers, Ryle Rodgers, all of Holdenville, and Maryangel Brewer of Hartford AR; one great grandson on the way; other family members and many friends.

Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017, and Stanley was laid to rest at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas, with Rev. Gary Martin officiating.
