Obituary

Shirley June Brittain Weaver went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 22, 2013, at the age of 70 years.

Shirley was the daughter of Wiley & Ona Mae (Edwards) Brittain, born on March 22, 1943, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in Holdenville, and graduated Holdenville High School in 1961.

She was married to Jake Grant Weaver Jr. on April 8, 1963. They were parents of three children: Billy Grant Weaver, Brenda Gail Weaver, and Johnny Dale Weaver.

Shirley was a member of Penn West Baptist Church. She loved going anywhere on bus tours, particularly to Branson, Missouri. She worked many years at Seamprufe, Custom Size, and Lillian Russell, and at various other occupations throughout her lifetime, but the one she loved most was being a caretaker, and she spent many years as a home health provider.

Shirley loved life. Nothing ever got her down. She rooted for the underdog. She loved unconditionally. Her children and grandchildren were her life. She was always the same whether she had a dime or a thousand, and if you needed it, it was yours.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wiley & Ona Mae Brittain; her husband, Jake Grant Weaver Jr.; four brothers: Harold Brittain, Dan Brittain, Darryl 'John' Brittain, and Willard Brittain; two sisters, Willie Smith and Joyce Carl; her nephew, Danny Weaver.

She is survived by her children: Billy & Tonja Weaver of Holdenville, Johnny & Sherry Weaver of Gordonville, Texas, and Brenda Nichols of Holdenville; eight grandchildren: Dallas Weaver, Dakota Weaver, Michael Nichols, Monica Nichols, Trevor Keefer, Jacob Weaver, Ben O'Neal, and Renae O'Neal; ten great grandchildren: Sadie Weaver, Quentin Goforth, Allyson Goforth, Tyler Clark, Bradyn Nichols, Lauren Allen, Coby Brown, Brandon O'Neal, Olivia O'Neal, and Evan O'Neal; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Billie & Bob Fitzgerald and Sue & Charles Moore, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby & Loretta Brittain and Eldon & Lorrie Brittain, all of Holdenville; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 26, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Penn West Baptist Church, and Shirley will be laid to rest in the Yeager Cemetery. Rev. Dane Robinson is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are Bo Babb, Jack Siegrist, Danny Moore, Barney Brittain, Brian Jackson, and Steve Weaver. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Nichols, Dakota Weaver, Jacob Weaver, Trevor Keefer, Ben O'Neal, and Cash Nickell.
