Obituary

Sherry Lee Wingate passed away in Oklahoma City on Sunday morning, February 17, 2013, at the age of 42 years.

Sherry was the daughter of Robert Acuff & Shirley (Bolding) Acuff, born on June 7, 1970, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in Oklahoma City, and graduated City College in Norman.

She was married to Nicholaus Wingate on August 6, 1999, in Oklahoma City. They lived for eleven years in Moore, before moving to Blanchard in 2010. Sherry attended the Church of God in Oklahoma City until her health failed.
She loved quilting and cooking, fishing and boating. She also loved shopping, and was an avid coupon clipper.

She is preceded in death by one daughter, April, in 1990; her mother-in-law, Sharon Clevenger, July 4, 2009.

She is survived by her husband, Nick, of the home; two daughters, Samantha Johnson of Oklahoma City and Sheyanne Wingate of Midwest City; two sisters, Robbie Acuff of Blanchard and Stacie Acuff of Norman; her father, Robert Acuff of Oklahoma City and her mother, Shirley Acuff, of Moore; her parents-in-law, Paul & Jo Ann Clevenger of Holdenville; special friends John & Lori Craft of Bridge Creek, Oklahoma, and Jaime Soper-Mann of Midwest City, along with their children, who considered Sherry their 'other mother'; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 21, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Holdenville, and Sherry will be laid to rest in the Holdenville Cemetery. Rev. Ray Adams is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are John Craft, Tony Ayers, Zackery Acuff, Paul Clevenger, Vernon Bigham Jr. and Kyle Wingate.
