Sandra Gail Tomlin, Wife, Mother, and Nanny, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at the age of 68 years.
Gail was the daughter of George Oscar Smith & Dureathia Inez (Stepford) Smith, born on December 16, 1944, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, where she spent her childhood until meeting and marrying Carrol Dean Tomlin, with whom she spent the next 52 years. Gail spent most of her days working side by side with her husband to raise their growing family. They had made their home for the past 20 years in Luther, Oklahoma.
Gail was a member of the Luther Assembly of God Church. Her family was her life. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren meant everything to her, and she was especially happy when she was able to get all her children together and spend time with them. She was more than just a wife, mother, and nanny and she will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George & Dureathia Smith, and one brother, John Smith.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Carrol: nine children: LaVonda Randle and husband Darrell of Chandler, Rocky Tomlin and wife Lori of Wilburton, Greta Smith and husband David of Wellston, Glenda Jones of Wilburton, LaDessia Abernathy and husband Terry of Pittsburg, Shelly Pate of Okemah, Shelby Tomlin and wife Lisa of Red Oak, Matt Tomlin and wife Gwen of Luther, and Corky Tomlin of Midwest City; sixteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Roberta Shed and LaDean Reed and one brother, Earl Smith; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 12, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church north of Calvin, and Gail will be laid to rest in the Crossroads Cemetery. Rev. Tonya Ryals is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are Corky Tomlin, Matt Tomlin, Ryan Pate and Larry Pate.
