Ruth Ellen Billings passed from this life on Friday, October 14, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years.

Ruth was the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Nichol) Peters, born on December 10, 1941.  She grew up in the Ponca City, Oklahoma area and graduated Ponca City High School in 1959.  She later attended the University of Central Oklahoma.  She married James N. Billings and they lived all over the U.S. before settling in Holdenville in 1979.  She has worked as a cook for Pat's Cafe and the Elk's Lodge but most will remember her as an Avon sales rep for this area.  She and her husband, James, owned and operated Billings Ballpark, a sports memorabilia store on Main Street.  Ruth was always busy and taking care of someone, but her kids and grandchildren were her life.  She was a Christian lady and when her health permitted, she attended the Assembly of God church in Wewoka.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Anna Peters; her husband, James N. Billings; two sons, Ricky Billings and Chris Peters.

Ruth is survived by one son, James Billings of Georgia, and one daughter, Kimberley Billings Jones of Holdenville; six grandchildren: April, Tim, Johnny, Christopher, Christina, and Patrick; numerous great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, other relatives and friends.

Viewing/Visitation was held at Fisher Funeral Home from 10:00am until 2:00pm on Monday, October 17, 2022.  Private family services were held.
