Obituary

Roy Madron passed away at his home in Holdenville on Monday, May 29, 2017, at the age of 78 years.

Roy was the son of Frank & Goldie (Jackson) Madron, born on January 3, 1939, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. The family lived for a while in Bowlegs before moving to Arizona when Roy was a young boy. He returned to Holdenville on his own in 1957, and joined the U.S. Army. He was discharged in 1964, after spending most of his military service in Germany.

He married Sandra Berryman on March 20, 1961, in Holdenville. They lived for a brief time in Holdenville, Henryetta, and Davis, and then returned to Holdenville, where they've made their home since 1972.

Roy worked on highway construction for many years, and for the past several years worked as a pumper in the oilfield. Golfing and bowling were among his favorite things, and he played with several bowling leagues. He loved going coon hunting, deer hunting, and noodling. His greatest joy was his family, and whenever his children or grandchildren were involved in any activity, he never missed being there.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Goldie Madron; his wife, Sandra, his wife of forty-four years, in 2005; two sons: infant Richard in 1963, and Roy Don in 2006; three brothers: Ray Madron, Lynn Madron, and Donnie Madron, and two sisters, Lois Bryant and Linda Chesser.

He is survived by four children: Kevin Madron (Tesa) of Konawa, Vicki Bramlett of Ada, Damon Madron (Nikki) of Bixby, and Myra Vandeveer (Brad) of Holdenville; ten grandchildren: Baker Bramlett, Craig Bramlett, Tarah Madron, Trevin Madron, Justin Rogers, Haylie Rogers, Rylan Smith, Ryker Madron, Laiken Madron, and a baby granddaughter on the way; two brothers, Troy Madron of Lost Springs KS and Jerry Madron of Roll AZ, and one sister, Tiny Greenway of Lost Springs KS; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, June 1, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel, with Rev. Rick Madron officiating.
