Roman Yahola passed away at Holdenville General Hospital on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the age of 81 years.

Roman was the son of Barney & Ruth Yahola, born on October 17, 1929, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in the Holdenville area, and also attended the Bacone School in Muskogee. He served two years in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in May of 1956. He has lived and worked in the Holdenville area all his life. He enjoyed working on cars. He was a member of Middlecreek #2 Baptist Church in Holdenville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney & Ruth Yahola; two brothers, Houston Yahola and Harold Yahola; one son, Clarence Yahola, and one daughter, Ramona Yahola.

He is survived by eleven children: Deborah Masterson and husband Larry, of Pacola, Oklahoma, Tim Yahola of Stratford, Oklahoma, Ron Yahola of Holdenville, Mike Yahola of Ponca City, Gary Yahola of Wewoka, Jeff Yahola and wife Vanessa, of Seminole, Steve Yahola of Holdenville, Johnny Yahola of Tahlequah, Virginia Yahola of Mustang, Justin Yahola of Holdenville and Linda Martin of Wewoka; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; half brother, Wiley King of Holdenville; mother of seven of his children, Martha Yahola of Wewoka; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 11, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at Middlecreek #2 Baptist Church west of Holdenville, and Roman will be laid to rest in the Yahola Family Cemetery. Rev. George Harjoche and Rev. Houston Tiger are the officiating ministers. Pallbearers are Eric Yahola, Kenny Yahola, G. Uriah Yahola, Jamie Masterson, Shawn Masterson and Steven Camp; honorary pallbearers are Justin Yahola, Mason M. Yahola, Derek Yahola, Daniel Yahola and Michael Yahola, Jr.
