Obituary

Robert Timothy McGeeley passed away in Holdenville on Monday evening, January 14, 2013, at the age of 66 years.

Robert was the son of Louis McGeeley Sr. & Ida (Harjo) McGeeley, born on October 28, 1946, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in Holdenville, graduating Holdenville High School in 1964. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1965 and served several years, stationed in England and Japan. He returned to Oklahoma and lived for several years in Oklahoma City, where he worked for Hertz Alarm Systems. He moved in the early 1990s to Phoenix, Arizona, and worked for twelve years as a payroll supervisor for the Indian Health Services. He retired in 2009 and remained in Phoenix until his health failed and he returned to Oklahoma to live with family in Holdenville.

Robert loved all sports, especially golf. He was an avid fan of the OU Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis & Ida McGeeley.

He is survived by three brothers: Beaver Ward and wife Sarah of Shawnee, Wayne McGeeley of Holdenville, and Louis McGeeley Jr. of Jenks; two sisters, Jennie McGeeley of Holdenville, and Idalene Taylor and husband Jimmy of Holdenville; two aunts, Bessie Fixico of Holdenville and Leona Zink of Okemah; one uncle, Dave Long Jr. of Okmulgee; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 18, 2013, 1:30 p.m. at Salt Creek United Methodist Church, and Robert will be laid to rest in the Salt Creek Cemetery. Rev. Dave Long Jr. and Rev. Paul Fixico are the officiating ministers. Pallbearers are Timmy McGeeley, Tommy Taylor, Glen Zink, Caleb Hodgins, Colin Coon and Mike McGirt. Honorary pallbearers are James Hawkens, Jerry Lowe, Kenneth Factor, Toske Willits, Switzer McGeeley, Chebon Buck, Jerry McCain, Alfred Goate, and Damien Littledeer.

Wake will be Thursday, January 17, 2013, 7:00 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel.
