Robert Walter 'Bobby' Bishop passed away at his home in Gilmer, Texas on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at the age of 67 years.

Bobby was the son of Walter Red Bishop & Wanda Lee (Johnson) Bishop, born on July 16, 1948, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, where he was brought up and attended schools. He moved as a young man to Texas, living for a few years in Pasadena and then in Midland. He married Becky Jane Johnson in Midland on June 16, 1972, where they made their home for many years before moving to Gilmer in 2002.

Bobby worked most of his life as an auto mechanic and heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church in Gladewater. His favorite pastimes were softball and fishing until his grandchildren came along, and he loved spending time with them more than anything.

He is preceded in death by his mother and his infant daughter, Amy.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Becky, of the home; his son, Glen Bishop, and daughter, Susie Bishop, both of Gilmer; four grandchildren: Landon Taylor, Jocelyn Tayor, Kyleigh Bishop, all of Gilmer, and Levi Bishop of Gladewater; his father, Red Bishop, of Wewoka; two sisters, Donna Bible (Billy) of Wewoka and Mamie Bruce (Kevin) of Dallas; two brothers, Wesley Bishop (June) of Dallas and Robby Bishop of Wewoka; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 7, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church in Gladewater, Texas, with Rev. Brian Zappa officiating. Pallbearers were Neal Bradley, Joshua Kerns, Travis Kerns, Bailey Clevenger, Matthew Prazak, and Corey Hines.

Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2015, at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma, officiated by Rev. Larry Chesser.
