Obituary

Rechinta Mae Youmans passed away in Norman, Oklahoma on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at the age of 85 years.

Rechinta was born to Elizabeth Smith on August 28, 1931, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in Hanna, and was a graduate of Hanna High School. She lived in Oklahoma City for a while and attended nursing school. She married Harry Eugene Youmans and lived for many years in Holdenville. She worked at Seamprufe and at Lillian Russell in Wewoka before retiring. She moved to Shawnee and has made her home there since 1995.

Rechinta was a very active member of Many Springs Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School classes, went on many missions trips, was active in GAs, and served as cook and sponsor for many years at Falls Creek. Some of her favorite things were bowling, playing piano, and listening to Gospel music. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved sewing clothes for her girls. She had a green thumb and loved taking care of her flower beds. Most of her time was spent taking care of her seven daughters and their families. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley & Elizabeth Johnson; her daughter, Paula Mason; her brother, Richard Deo; aunt and uncle Boyd & Ellen Cummings; son-in-law Rick Ogle.

She is survived by six daughters: Brenda Cates (Jim) of Atwood, Judy Shed of Shawnee, Linda Ogle of McLoud, Wanda Hodde (Kent) of Shawnee, Sharon Youmans of Holdenville, Lisa Lee (Danny) of Stillwater; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren; one sister, Ramona Footracer of Holdenville; cousin Katie Hawkins of Stillwater; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 9, 1:00 p.m. at Many Springs Baptist Church, and Rechinta was laid to rest at Holdenville Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Anderson and Rev. Frank Moppin were the officiating ministers.

Wake services were held on Tuesday, November 8, 7:00 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel.
