Obituary

Randy Joesph Crawford passed away in his hometown of Holdenville, Oklahoma on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the age of 19 years.

Randy is the son of Roger & Brandy (Taylor) Crawford, born on November 21, 2003 in Ada, Oklahoma. His entire life was spent in Holdenville, where he was brought up and attended schools, graduating Holdenville High School with the Class of 2023.

Randy was a genuine Hometown Hero. It would be difficult to find a person in the Holdenville area who didn't know his name even if they'd never met him. Although his life was short, his list of accomplishments is long. He made it his mission to help anyone in need. He intentionally reached out in numerous ways to bring joy and happiness to every person he came in contact with, and he came in contact with as many people as he possibly could. Within hours of his passing, his Facebook page was filled with scores of messages from family, friends, and acquaintances mourning his loss and recalling the positive impact he had on so many lives.

One of Randy's favorite things was racing, and he loved all his racing families. Randy also enjoyed helping Mr. Richison with FFA activities, and the kids with their hogs. Camping was a family event every 4th of July, and Randy loved it. He thoroughly enjoyed cooking and grilling for family and friends, and never missed a Sunday cooking up a meal when his health permitted. Family was everything to him, and he loved spending time just hanging out with his best friend and especially with his cousins, he did everything with those boys every chance he got.

He loved Holdenville. He attended church at the House of Prayer in Wewoka. He was happiest when he was helping to make other people happy. He will be greatly missed, and as long as he is missed, he will be remembered for the goodness he shared with everyone who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roy & Celia Crawford, and maternal grandparents, Joe & Pam Taylor; great-grandmother Mary Ellen Merriman; uncle Bill Crawford, uncle Roy Crawford, and uncle Scott Taylor.

He is survived by his parents, Roger & Brandy Crawford, of the home; four sisters: Robin Kurtz (Ryan) of Harrah, Rylee Crawford of Holdenville, Raegan Crawford and Paris Crawford, both of the home; two brothers, Blake Crawford of Lamar, and Jon Wiseman of Holdenville; niece Raven Kurtz; one uncle, Robert Crawford of Missouri, and three aunts: Alice Whitehead (Richard) of Missouri, Kara Pembrook (James), and Lorinda Taylor, all of Holdenville; a host of cousins, other family members and innumerable friends.

Memorial services were held at Holdenville First Baptist Church on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 3:00pm, with Rev. Bill Chesser and Mr. Kevin Merriman officiating. Pallbearers were Christian Zambrano, Dale Forbis, James Houghton, Colby Cahoon, Jon Wiseman, and Landon Terrazas.
