Obituary

Phillip Don Carpenter, age 65, passed away in his sleep in the early morning hours of November 25, 2019, with his faithful companion dog, Blue, by his side. He was born on August 3, 1954 in Holdenville, Oklahoma, the middle child born to Orres William and Helen Marjorie Lipe Carpenter.
Whether you called him Phil, Al, Uncle Phil, or Phillip (usually reserved only for his mother), you definitely called him Friend. Phil never met a stranger and rarely met a person he didn't like. He had a knack for finding the good in everyone. He would literally give you the shirt off his back and you could "guaran-damn-tee" that every time you saw him, he'd make sure you had a good laugh while in his presence. He was a karate champion in his younger days and had a room full of trophies to prove it. Phil loved his dog, Blue, his kids, his grandkids, and his friends, with his whole heart. You could bet that every time you saw him, he'd be happy as hell to hear from you regardless of the time. Phil enjoyed Jimi Hendrix, Hank Williams Jr., Western books, talk radio, and OU football. He was a great cook and could make a mean peach cobbler - but his biscuits and gravy could've been award winning. He recently said what a great time he had during this journey of life, he soaked up every moment of fun that he could, and rode life like a bull. If he could give his loved ones one more piece of advice, it would be to slow down, enjoy the sunset, inhale life, and take as much of it in as you possibly can, because this ride doesn't last forever.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Orres and Helen Carpenter, and his sister, Sherry (Carpenter) Eaves.
He left behind one brother, Terry Carpenter; three daughters: Crystal Carpenter-Hall and wife Samantha, Phillicia Carpenter, and April (Carpenter) Tozer and husband Allen Tozer; one dog "son" Blue Carpenter; 10 grandchildren: Brighton Thompson, Dakotah Kean, Shyan Kean, B Preston Carpenter, Nathaniel Hall, Kylah Rumbaugh, William Newby, Alexander Tozer, Kaylee Austin, and Austin Tozer.
Celebration of Life Party will be held at Holdenville Lake Baptist Pavilion on Saturday, November 30, 2019, from 2 pm until the party ends. All are welcome, please come by and share your story.
