Obituary

Patty Lou Burns of Seminole passed away in Oklahoma City on Saturday evening, November 8, 2014, at the age of 63 years.

Patty was the daughter of Derril & Betty Jean (Minne) Wheat, born on May 1, 1951, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in Seminole. She was married to Jerry Burns on June 8, 1996, in Wolf, Oklahoma.

Patty enjoyed watching soap operas, especially "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "The Young and the Restless". She was a natural-born nurturer, loved taking care of animals, particularly horses. Whatever her other interests, her entire life was devoted to caring for her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jean Wheat; her younger brother, Derril Gene Wheat; grandson Seth Burns.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry, of the home; four children: Candy Gurley and Curtis Loftis (Crista), both of Seminole, and Eli Burns and Savanah Burns, both of Borger, Texas; eight grandchildren: Destry Wilson (Tyla) of Seminole, Zachary Leck of Kingfisher, Savanna Wilson of Seminole, Mary Loftis of Del City, Bryson Loftis, Preston Loftis, Caden Loftis, all of Seminole, and Aurora Burns of Borger, Texas; great grandson Caven Wilson of Seminole; five sisters: Peggy Hayworth of Maud, Frankie Keeney (Steve) of Sasakwa, Patsy Hayworth of Little, Brenda Johnson and Joann Wheat, both of Seminole; two brothers, Earl Wheat of Seminole and Darren Wheat of Cromwell; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 11, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at the Lord's Community Church in Seminole, and Patty will be laid to rest in the Little Cemetery at Little, Oklahoma. Rev. Nita Moreland is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are Destry Wilson, Thomas Gates, Jonathan Gates, Shawn Murray, Eli Burns, and Johnny Murray. Honorary pallbearers are Curtis Loftis, Bryson Loftis, Curtis Kasinger, Ray Robertson, Chris Brewer, and Shayne Kelough.
