Oleta Dean Hinze Venable, 71, of Holdenville passed from this life in Midwest City, Oklahoma on November 22, 2016.
Oleta was born on November 7, 1945 in Ada, Oklahoma to Dean & Martha 'Jeannie' (Tucker) Hinze. Oleta moved with her family to Holdenville at a young age. She graduated from Holdenville High School in 1965 and she made Holdenville her home. She married Jackie Venable and they later divorced, but remained good friends.
Oleta attended beauty college and also Wes Watkins Vo Tech. Along with various jobs over the years, she worked for the Hughes County Sheriff's Department, the City of Holdenville Police Department, and served as the City Treasurer for many years. She enjoyed camping with friends and family, spending time with everyone's children that she could, crocheting and working.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean & Martha Hinze; maternal grandparents William Tucker and Estelle Tucker Johnson; paternal grandparents Earnest & Verna Hinze.
Survivors include one brother, Jeff Hinze and wife Nancy of Holdenville and two sisters, Janice Miller and husband Benny of Holdenville, and Judy Catlett and husband Steve of Seminole; six nieces and nephews: Scotty Orr and wife Juanita of Seminole, Shawna Orr-Jackson and husband Chris of Oklahoma City, Sumer Miller Collins and husband Brad of Norman, Ronna Hinze Haney and husband Gerald of Holdenville, Lynn Hinze Wade and husband Brad of Lakeside TX, and Cameron Miller and wife Alicia of Holdenville; numerous great nieces and great nephews, and two great great nephews; other family members and many friends.
Oleta was a kind, generous, and loving woman to everyone she knew. She was very loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Graveside services were held and Oleta was laid to rest at Holdenville Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016, with Bill Robinson and Gene Holliman officiating.
