Norma Sue Hall passed away at Holdenville General Hospital on Monday, October 21, 2013, at the age of 79 years.
Sue was the daughter of Ed Shields & Hazel Lee (Fielder) Shields, born on July 9, 1934, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, where she was brought up and attended schools. She studied Data Processing at Draughn's Business School in Oklahoma City and worked in that profession for more than forty years, until she retired because of failing health.
She was married to Elmer Lucas and they were parents of three children: Cheryl, Scott, and Dusty. She was later married to Eldon Buchanan, and to Gene Hall.
Sue loved crochet, needlepoint, quilting, and embroidering. She loved the Assembly of God Church in Wetumka, where she attended for many years. More than anything, she loved her children, grandchildren, and her one great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed & Hazel Shields; three husbands: Elmer Lucas, Eldon Buchanan, and Gene Hall; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Bobbie Knight and husband Otis, and Darlene Shields.
She is survived by her three children: Cheryl Lucas Owen, Scott Lucas, and Dusty Lucas & wife Sheree, all of Holdenville; nine grandchildren: Shannon Cooper of Belleville, Texas, Fancy Owen of Oklahoma City, Kellie Akers & husband Scott of Owasso, Matt Lucas & wife Shantel of Shawnee, Ellyott Lucas, Gunner Lucas, Zoie Lucas, all of Oklahoma City, Destiny Lucas Evans & husband Jason of Lavon, Texas, and Tobin Lucas of Norman; six great grandchildren: Brandon, Abilgail, Jordan, Nicole, Graydon, and Blake; one great great granddaughter, Jayden; one brother and sister-in-law, Billy & Rose Shields of Tonto Basin, Arizona, and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen & Jim Stapp of Wetumka, and Paula & Mark Pippin of Enid; several nieces and nephews, various other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 25, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Wetumka, and Sue will be laid to rest in the Holdenville Cemetery. Rev. Bo Gibbs is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are Brandon Hughes, Matt Lucas, Gunner Lucas, Tobin Lucas, Jason Evans, and Scott Akers. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Stapp, Bryan Stapp, Kenny Jordan, and Wayne Roberts.
