Norma Dean Dodd passed away in Oklahoma City on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at the age of 78 years.
Norma was the daughter of Ralph Ramsey & Alice (McKim) Ramsey, born on October 1, 1941, in Binger, Oklahoma. During her childhood and early youth, the family moved back and forth between Oklahoma and California. She married Dwayne Lee Dodd on December 20, 1958, in Del City, Oklahoma. Her primary occupation was being a full-time minister/pastor's wife. They shared the Gospel as pastor and evangelist in various parts of the State. Norma loved reading, and was well read on many and varied subjects. She loved gardening and growing flowers. She loved to cook, and very much loved preparing meals and having people enjoy her cooking. Her family was the joy of her life, and she loved the United Pentecostal Church of Shawnee, where she was a devoted and active member for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mike Dodd; one granddaughter, Lauren Dodd.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dwayne Dodd, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark & Kena Dodd of Moore, and Chris & Sarah Dodd of Tecumseh; two grandsons, Jeffery Dodd of Ada and Brandon Williams of Mustang; two granddaughters, Cynthia Dodd of Seattle WA and Tessia Dodd of Parana, Argentina; other family members, and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 16, 2020, 1:00 p.m. at the Shawnee United Pentecostal Church, and Norma was laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka. Rev. Vance Bowman and Rev. Paul Sharp were the officiating ministers. Pallbearers were Larry Robbins, Mark Dodd, Chris Dodd, Robbie Dodd, Quinton Saines, Ricky Garza, and Claude Olden.
Viewing was at Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh on Sunday, March 15, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
