Nolene P. Bobo, of Holdenville, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Integris Hospice Home in Oklahoma City at the age of 89. She was born July 16, 1924 in Sims, Arkansas to Walter Roy Summit and Lucinda Jane (Trapp) Summit.
Nolene was a life-long member of the Lone Valley Church of God in Sims, Arkansas, but attended the First Free Will Baptist Church of Wewoka after she moved to Wewoka in November of 2001. Upon entering Heritage Village she actively participated in the worship services presented there.

Nolene played several musical instruments, such as guitar, fiddle, piano and accordion. During that same time they co-wrote several songs, including "Honey, Do You Think of Me" which was recorded by The Lonesome Drifter.
Throughout her life, she has participated in many musical programs, such as the Lincoln Country Hayride in Prague, OK, the weekly music show in Mt. Ida, Arkansas and even programs presented by the Allen Band at the Heritage Village Nursing Home in Holdenville, OK. She felt blessed to be privileged to join in with the Allen Band which she thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated. She looked forward to each opportunity to play with them.
She married Andrew Clifton Bobo on November 24, 1970, and she and Clifton wrote a number of gospel songs that were published by Baxter Quartet Co, Stamps Baxter, Vaughan and Jeffress Music Companies. They regularly attended state and regional singing conventions at which many of their songs were performed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Bobo; her parents, Walter and Lucinda Summit; four sisters: Audrey McDonald, Sylvia Mabry, Ruby Anderson, and Wilma Bissell, and three brothers: Gordon Summit, Daniel Summit and an infant brother. She is also survived by ten other nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She will be missed by all who loved her.
