Obituary

Myrtle Maxine Martin passed away at her home in Holdenville on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the age of 70 years.

Maxine was the daughter of Basil & Clara (Padgett) Woods, born on February 20, 1942, in Dustin, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in Dustin and Hanna. With the exception of a short time in California and in the Oklahoma City area, Maxine lived her entire life in the Holdenville area.

She was married to Tommy Lee Martin in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on January 26, 1970. She worked in various occupations, including as a seamstress for Seamprufe and waitress at the Street Car Café in Holdenville, and for the Solo Cup Company in Ada. She loved garage sales, fishing and camping, sewing, and working in her flower bed. More than anything, she loved her grandbabies.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Basil & Clara Woods; her husband, Tommy Lee Martin, in 2008; one brother, Jimmy Woods and one sister, Linda Coelho; one granddaughter, Kendalyn Bourne Campbell.

She is survived by four children: Carl Lambert and wife Patty, Phyllis Ellis and husband Joe, Darren L. Bourne, all of Holdenville, and Billy Martin of Choctaw; 21 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; one sister, Edith Lambert of Holdenville, and two brothers, Barney Woods of Holdenville and Virgil 'Butch' Woods of Arizona; numerous nieces and nephews, various other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 21, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel, and Maxine will be laid to rest in the Yeager Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Orsburn and Rev. Rick Madron are the officiating ministers. Maxine's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
