Michael J. Shed passed away at his home in Wewoka, Oklahoma on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the age of 76 years.
Michael is the son of William Forrest Shed & Grace Laverne (Chadwick) Shed, born on August 10, 1949, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, where he was brought up and attended schools. He graduated Holdenville High School with the Class of 1967, then joined the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1967 to 1972 during the Vietnam War. Following military service he became a over-the-road truck driver, driving all over the US for thirty years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding horses. He loved playing guitar and played occasionally with Country music stars Roy Clark and Buck Owens. He was a member of the VFW of Holdenville and served for a time as Commander.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill F. & Grace Shed; one brother, Desmond Keith Shed, and one sister, Oriece Babb.
He is survived by several children, including Nicholas Brian Dobbs, Dion Dobbs, Tony McLelland, and Caesonia Hembree; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter who he thought hung the moon; one brother, Dr. Forrest Shed and wife Carol; numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, 11:00am at Fisher Funeral Home-Lillye Chapel, and Michael was laid to rest with military honors at Holdenville Cemetery, with Rev. Dane Robinson officiating.
