Michael Ray Martin passed away in Ada, Oklahoma on Monday evening, January 20, 2014, at the age of 41 years.
Michael was the son of Joe & Elsie Mae (Henneha) Martin, born on August 17, 1972, in Talihina, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in Holdenville, graduating Holdenville High School in 1991. He married Shana Mead in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on October 7, 2004.
Michael worked for many years in the oilfield, and as an auto mechanic. For the past fifteen years he has worked at Babb's Auto Repair, for both Ray and Jack Babb. He was a huge OSU fan, the only one in an entire family of OU fans. He enjoyed playing pool and cooking, and he loved babysitting his grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe & Elsie Mae Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Shana, of the home; three stepchildren: Charlotte Smith and spouse David Lewis, Sissey Smith and spouse Matt Harley, all of Holdenville, and Jacob Smith and wife Christy, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; eight grandchildren: Kirstan Smith, David Lewis Jr., Nicholas Lewis, Emma Lewis, William Lewis, Zachariah Smith, Samuel Harley, and Jacob Harley, all of Holdenville; two brothers, Ted Martin and wife Angela of Fort Gibson, and Tim Martin of Holdenville; one sister, Sue Upton and husband Ricky, of Holdenville; three nephews: Clayton Upton and Justin Upton, both of Holdenville, and Kyle Martin of Fort Gibson; three nieces: Augustina Bridges of Holdenville, Alicia Martin and Lauren Martin, both of Fort Gibson; one uncle, Sam Martin of Wetumka; numerous other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 23, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel, and Michael will be laid to rest in the McGeeley Family Cemetery north of Holdenville.
