Melinda was the daughter of Bill & Mary (Pullen) Curlee, born on March 21, 1963, in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in Bowlegs. She was married to Charles Frank 'Chuck' Childers in Bowlegs on January 8, 2000. They lived for a while in California and in North Carolina, but spent most of the time living in Bowlegs Melinda has made her home for the past eight years in Holdenville. She was a member of Gleaners Holiness Church in Wewoka. She dearly loved her family, her children and grandchildren, and she lived to take care of everyone. She will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her father, Bill Curlee, and her mother, Mary Curlee Cravens; her daughter, Crystal Fulks; two sisters, Renee Curlee and Sharon Treece; her steptather, Lawrence Cravens.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary McCoy (Michael) of Seminole, and Carrie Nunn (Bryan) of McAlester; five grandchildren: Anthony Childers, Haley Nunn, Hannah McCoy, Laney Nunn, and Matthew McCoy; one great grandson, baby Tyas, on the way; five sisters: Janet Mullins, Patricia Harrington, Kim Crow, all of Holdenville, Christy Curlee of Richland Hills TX, and Sandra Booth of Collinsville; one brother, Tony Curlee, of Bowlegs; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services were held on Friday, January 8, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Gleaners Holiness Church in Wewoka, with Rev. Larry Chesser and Rev. Tony Chesser officiating.
