Martha Marie Harjo passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at the age of 55 years.

Martha was the daughter of Wiley Bear & Rachel Marie (Larney) Bear, born on September 18, 1964, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She attended Jones Academy in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, and was a graduate of Hartshorne High School. She met Leonard Wayne Harjo in Hartshorne, and they were married, February 11, 1981. They made their home in Holdenville and raised their family there. Her husband preceded her in death.

Martha loved to cook and enjoyed hanging out at casinos, but her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She loved watching her girls play softball and traveling to their games.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Wayne Harjo; her parents, Wiley & Rachel Bear; sister Brenda Bear, and brother George Bear.

She is survived by three daughters: Shannon Harjo, Whitney Harjo, and Courtney Harjo; twelve grandchildren: Ali'jah Bowen, Laeh'lah Bowen, Bubbah Bowen, Jordan Harjo, Atheinah Billy, Haleighyah Billy, Geronimo Billy, Evellan Fixico, KK Fixico, Nahlya Fixico, Lakenna Harjo, and River Harjo; her twin sister, Marsha Bear; three brothers: Tim Bear, Wiley 'Blue' Bear Jr., and David Walters; numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Wake service was Sunday, July 12, 6:00 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 13, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Wewoka, and Martha was laid to rest at Holdenville Cemetery. Rev. Houston Tiger and Deacon Jason Tiger were the officiating ministers. Pallbearers were Matthew Bear, Tim Harjo, Joe Burgess, Daniel Yahola,Jr., Esequiel Cardenas and Russell Lowe.  Honorary Pallbearers were Wiley Bear, Jr, Tim Bear, Tusekia Alford, Cristoff Bear, Kevin Alford, Kent Alford and Wally Bear.

Saturday, July 11 - 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday, July 12 - 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
