Marilee Jones passed away in Alva, Oklahoma on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the age of 49 years.
Marilee was the daughter of Leslie Harrison & Joammie (Carpitcher) Harrison, born on August 3, 1961 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in Wewoka. She played clarinet and was a Flag Girl in the Wewoka High School Band, and graduated Wewoka High School in 1978.
She was married and had a son, Quinten McDowell. She was later married to Mark Jones on February 14, 1986. Although Mark's job has taken him to various parts of the state, they have always maintained their home in the Wewoka area.
Marilee was a member of the Cedar Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, and later moved her membership to Midway Baptist Church. She enjoyed flower arranging and shopping, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents; her biological parents, Robert & Marylou West, and her father, Leslie Harrison; one brother, Robert Lee West, Jr., and one sister, Lucilla McGirt; her first husband, Ricky McDowell.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Jones, of the home; four children: Quinten McDowell and wife Nicole of Los Angeles, California, Lindsey Jones, Michelle Jones, and Kelly Maples and husband Zac, all of Wewoka; three grandchildren: Trenton Whitson, Mariah Whitson and Baiah Maples; her mother, Joammie Harrison of Wewoka; three brothers: Ron West of Tupelo, Oklahoma, Ryan West of Norman and Kenneth Lindsey of Oklahoma; five sisters: Carolyn West of Seminole, Willette Walker of Konawa, Joyce Gelino of Shawnee, May West of Tecumseh, Teresa Stephens of Oklahoma; numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, various other relatives and many friends.
Services will be held at Lillye Chapel, Fisher Funeral Home in Holdenville: wake service on Monday, January 17, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., funeral service on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, 2:00 p.m. Marilee will be laid to rest in the Vamoosa Cemetery. Officiating ministers are Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Frank Moppin. Pallbearers are Zac Maples, Henry West, Ricky West, Randal West, Matthew Welch and Christian Welch. Honorary pallbearers are Ron West and Ryan West.
