Obituary

Marie Z. Morris passed away in Holdenville on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at the age of 91 years.

Marie was the daughter of Charles Walter Levisay & Zola Lou (Maloney) Levisay, born on February 12, 1923, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was brought up in Vivian, Oklahoma, and attended Strothers schools. She was married to Allen Morris on March 15, 1939, in Cromwell, Oklahoma. They moved to California and lived in the Long Beach, Glendale, and Burbank area where Allen worked for Lockheed Aircraft. They returned to Oklahoma in the 1940s to open a plumbing business, A&M Plumbing in Holdenville.

Marie assisted her husband for thirty-seven years in their plumbing business, and for several years they operated the Western Union office. Marie also worked at Seamrprufe, for the Hughes County Election Board, and at Holdenville Hospital as a respiratory therapist. She loved reading her Bible daily, and never ate breakfast until her Bible reading was done. She loved going to church, and attended both the East Main Church of Christ and the 4th & Broadway Church of Christ in Holdenville. She was a very active part of her kids' and grandkids' lives. She loved to take care of her grandbabies, and tell them outlandish stories that they immensely enjoyed. Her grandbabies were her life, and she was a big part of who they became.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Zola Levisay; her husband, Allen Morris; infant daughter, Sharon Rose Morris; grandson Larry David Morris; two sisters, Thelma Morris and Geraldine Bagwell.

She is survived by three daughters: Glenda Sue Morris of Oklahoma City, Shari Morris and Lisa Carol Nickell, both of Holdenville; four grandchildren: John Wayne McGinty of Broken Arrow, Kathy Ramsey of Yukon, Matt Morris (Heather) of Holdenville, and Jerry Nickell Jr. of Stillwater; six great grandchildren: Nicole Marie Rehak, Luke Ramsey, Tracy Ramsey, Xander Morris, Kaden Morris, and Emerson Morris; various other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services will be Thursday, October 16, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Little Cemetery, Little, Oklahoma, with Larry Bailey officiating.
