Maria Veronica Cortez passed away at her home in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the age of 50 years.

Maria is the daughter of Joe & Manuela Cortez, born on December 22, 1975, in Smithville, Texas, and attended Bastrop schools. In the early 2000s she moved to Oklahoma, where she met Bobby Eller, her companion since September 8, 2015. She enjoyed coloring, watching movies based on books, and taking care of her family. She was an avid fan of OU and the Oklahoma Thunder. She was of the Catholic faith but attended church with Bobby's mom at First Assembly of God in Holdenville. Most important in her life was faith and family, her daughters, her grandchildren, and other family members.

She is survived by her companion of ten years, Bobby Eller of Holdenville; her father, Joe Cortez of Acapulco Mexico; three daughters: Angel Kelley (Kyle) of Troy TX, Krystal King of Troy TX, Emily Lasalle (Cameron) of Lacey WA; grandchildren: Elliott Eggett, Syrus Eggett, and Jadis Lasalle, all of Lacey WA.

Memorial services will be Thursday, July 16, 2026, 2:00pm at First Assembly of God Church, 315 South Creek Street in Holdenville, with Kyle Kelley officiating.
