Obituary

Macie Lee Anthony passed away in Edmond, Oklahoma on Monday evening, January 15, 2024, at the age of 82 years.

Macie is the son of Mace Lee Anthony & Hazel Irene (Hammons) Anthony, born on January 28, 1941, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He attended Hulsey Schools to the eighth grade, graduated as the only class member, and always bragged about being the Hulsey 8th Grade Valedictorian. He attended Moss High School and graduated with the Class of 1959. He lived for several years in Oklahoma City and worked for Southwestern Bell as a lineman and installer. He moved back to Holdenville in 1969 and continued working for SWB as a lineman, and later as a technician, retiring in 1998. He married Charlene Rives in Holdenville on November 7, 1975. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, camping at the lake, water skiing, and traveling. He was a member of Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church in Holdenville. He was also a member of the Holdenville Elks Lodge until its closure, then became a member of the Elks Lodge in Ada.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mace & Irene Anthony; one sister, Wilma Snell; his wife of thirty-seven years, Charlene Anthony, on February 28, 2012; two sons, Jerry Anthony and Donnie Anthony.

He is survived by one daughter, Rebeccas Burk, of California; two stepsons,
Stephen Corcoran (Annie) of Bella Vista AR, and Mike Corcoran (Beth) of Edmond; nine grandchildren; one sister, Wanda Greenwood (Randy) of Holdenville, and one brother, Sam Anthony (Sue) of McAlester; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 19, 2024, 10:00am at Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church in Holdenville and Macie was laid to rest at Holdenville Cemetery. Rev. Kris Mayberry was the officiating minister. Honorary pallbearers were Rick Chadwick, Harvey Price, Mike Cowart, Bill Anderson, Bruce Foster, J. M. Salazar, Ron Shields, Bill Johnson, and Kevin Green.
