Lowell Don Potter passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 19, 2010 under a beautiful tree while resting from baling hay. He was 65 years old.
Lowell was the son of Jimmie James Potter & Phoebe (Strickland) Potter, born on March 4, 1945, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in California, in the Fillmore area. He was married to Elizabeth Demmery on June 11, 1983, in Fairview, Pennsylvania, and they enjoyed together 27 years, one week, and one day before his passing. He lived and worked most of his life in Arizona, and has lived in the Wetumka area since 1992. He liked to work on tractors, loved his farm and cattle. He spent most his life working as an auto and truck mechanic, a welder, and for the past several years worked at the water treatment plant for the city of Wetumka.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie & Phoebe Potter, and one sister, Clarissa Potter.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, of the home; two daughters, La Donna and Evelyn, one sister, LouAnne Allen of Hennepin, Oklahoma; other relatives and a host of super men friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, and Lowell will be laid to rest in the Atwood Cemetery. Rev. Renee Ross is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are John Brooks, Pete Trammell, Mardell Bates, Mike Hughes, Steve Hughes, and Jody Adams. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Hughes, Bob Williams, Nelson Grissom, Gene Brittain, Brandon Hughes, Kenneth Hughes, Barry Adams, and Harvey Price.
Services are under direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Holdenville.
