Louis Palmer Sr. passed away in Shawnee on Wednesday morning, September 2, 2015, at the age of 84 years.
There will be a wake service on Friday evening, September 4, 7:00 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 5, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at Lillye Chapel, with Rev. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Louis Palmer Jr., Leonard Palmer, Jose Ibarra, and Michael Palmer.
Louis was the son of Billy & Bessie (McCosar) Palmer, born on October 4, 1930, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, where he was brought up and attended schools. After graduating Holdenville High School, he worked for many years as an upholsterer for Fred Bruner. He loved working on, and just piddling around, old cars. He was a member of Many Springs Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy & Bessie Palmer; his brother, Houston Palmer, and sister, Helen Chupco.
He is survived by one daughter, Sandra Carlin of Holdenville; two sons, Louis Palmer Jr. (Heather), and Leonard Palmer, all of Holdenville; four grandchildren: Jose Ibarra of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Michael Palmer of Holdenville, Rose Chesser of Wewoka, and Cathy Palmer of Holdenville; nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
