Loretta Marylou York passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Holdenville General Hospital at the age of 74.
Loretta was the daughter of Mabel York, born on June 8, 1936, in Oklahoma City. She was brought up in the Holdenville area and attended Moss schools, graduating Moss High School in 1955. She worked for Charles Komar & Sons at Seamprufe in Holdenville until the factory closed, then transferred to the McAlester factory and worked until she retired, after 40 years, in 1998. She enjoyed life and had many and varied interests. Fishing was one of her favorite things, and she loved relaxing and watching TV.
Loretta is preceded in death by her mother, Mabel York.
She is survived by one sister, Joyce York, of Holdenville; one aunt, Helen Lumpkin, and one uncle, Sam York and wife Wanda, also of Holdenville; numerous cousins, various other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 18, 2010, 1:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church in Holdenville, and Loretta will be laid to rest in the Holdenville Cemetery. Rev. Allen Lewis is the officiating minister.
