Obituary

Loretta L. Day passed away in Oklahoma City on Monday, August 20, 2012, at the age of 76 years. She was a longtime resident of Heritage Village Nursing Home in Holdenville.

Loretta was the daughter of John Henry Day & Della Louanna (Smith) Day, born on July 8, 1936, in Wetumka, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in the Wetumka and Gopher Hill area.

She was very creative and loved needle craft and making doilies. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Her father was a Southern Baptist minister, and Loretta loved to sing, especially in churches where her father ministered.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John & Della Day; two brothers and three sisters; several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her sister, Lula Folsom and husband William, of San Antonio, Texas; brothers-in-law Andrew Newton of Holdenville and James Roberts of Edmond; sister-in-law Pauline Day of Cleveland, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews: Yvonne Rutledge, Andrew Newton III, Leon Day, Neona Kennedy, Tim Day, Diana Heckler, Lavanda Locker, Glenda Swift, Tammie Wray, Anita Wray, Janet Wilhite, Ann Swickery, Natalie Sharp, Jamie Teeter, Roy Robinson, and Tony Robinson; a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services will be held and Loretta will be laid to rest in the Wetumka Cemetery on Saturday, August 25, 2012, 11:00 a.m. Rev. John Berry is the officiating minister.
