Obituary

Lee Moore, Jr. passed away at Holdenville General Hospital on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at the age of 79.

Before going any further the children of Lee Moore, Jr. would like to take this opportunity to honor the wife of Lee Moore, Jr.  Mrs. Moore cherished the ground that our father walked upon.  We thank you mother for standing by our father.

Lee was born to Lee Moore, Sr. and Adeline (Washington) Moore on February 1, 1931 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma.    He was the ninth child born to this union.  He attended elementary school at Thomas Chapel and Lincoln School  in Holdenville.

For seventy-nine years our Lord allowed Mr. Lee Moore to walk and live on this earth.  He loved Sasakwa, Oklahoma and was widely known by everyone. He worked for the Green Giant Company and Holdenville Post Office.  Lee served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and farmed until his health began to fail.

Lee was baptized at an early age.  He was a former member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church and the Friendship Baptist Church.  He was a faithful member and Deacon at Middle Creek Baptist Church until his health began to fail.

Lee was united in Marriage to Hudalia Adkerson in 1952 and to this union 13 children were born.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Ayers Brown, one grandson, Kevin Moore, Jr., both of his parents Mr. And Mrs. Lee Moore, Sr., 6 brothers, and 3 sisters.

He leaves behind to continue his legacy and memories, his loving and devoted wife, Hudalia Moore, and children, Annette Adkerson Moore of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Dorothy Jackson of Bessemer, Alabama, Virgil Moore of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Kevin Moore, Sr. of Stockton, California, Kenneth Moore of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Selena Lovett of Birmingham, Alabama, Gregory Moore, of Birmingham, Alabama, Val Acey of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Kirk Moore of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Gloriea Moore of Birmingham, Alabama, Tammy Sams of Holdenville, Oklahoma and James Moore of Holdenville, Oklahoma.  He leaves 35 Grandchildren, 45 Great-Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.  He also leaves two sisters Redell Jones of Oklahoma City and Roxie Boyd of Holdenville and two brothers Charlie Moore of Tulsa and Napoleon Moore of Oklahoma City.  A Special Sister-in-law that stood by our mother Tony Jean Brown and his namesake "Lee" aka Alyssa Welch.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Holdenville.  Lee was laid to rest in the Thomastown Cemetery north of Sasakwa with Rev Willie Guient officiating and Pallbearers members of his family.
