Leaine (Landrum) Leewright passed away in Shawnee, Oklahoma on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the age of 68 years.
Leaine was the daughter of Herman & Velma (Roan) Landrum, born on July 1, 1946, in Ada, Oklahoma, where she was brought up and attended schools. She was a graduate of Ada High School, and earned her bachelors degree and masters degree in Education from East Central University in Ada.
Leaine was married to Ronnie R. Leewright on February 18, 1972, in Bowlegs, Oklahoma. She taught History, Social Studies, and Spanish at high schools in Seminole, Hartshorne, and Hannah, retiring in 1992. She was of the Baptist faith and attended the Ideal Street Baptist Church in Seminole. She loved reading, studying genealogy, and traveling.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman & Velma Landrum.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ronnie Leewright, of the home; one sister, Mary Ann Downey (Charles) of Rogers, Arkansas; one niece, Sharla Nevels (Mark) of Claremore, and one nephew, Kent Downey (Angela) of Bella Vista, Arkansas; four great nieces: Kristin Latimer (Brian) of Sand Springs, Caitlin Nevels of Claremore, Jessica Downey of Woodlawn, Arkansas, and Megan Phillips of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one great- great nephew, Charles Luke Latimer; various other family members and many friends.
Graveside services will be held and Leaine will be laid to rest at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014.
