Larry Dean Turner passed away at his home in Shawnee, Oklahoma on Monday, July 23, 2018, at the age of 73 years.
Larry was the son of Bert & Elma (Fisher) Turner, born on November 11, 1944 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in Holdenville, and graduated Holdenville High School with the Class of 1962. He received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Oklahoma University, and was a teacher in Bowlegs and in Kansas City, Missouri. He later took an auto mechanics course and became a proficient mechanic, and at one time operated his own garage in Holdenville. Working on cars was one of his favorite things, along with gardening and fishing. He loved all animals. Despite being an OU alumnus, he was an avid OSU fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bert & Elma Turner; brother Winford Turner; son Stormy Wagner.
He is survived by one son, Larry Turner Jr.; a dear friend, Natta Wood and family of Geary, Oklahoma.
Graveside services were held on Monday, July 30, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. and Larry was laid to rest at Holdenville Cemetery.
