Kevin Lynn Peace passed away in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the age of 53 years.
Kevin was the son of Lindal Peace & Dona Hardwick, born on February 18, 1970, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. His early childhood years were spent in White Hall, Arkansas until he moved when he was in junior high school to Holdenville. Kevin played baseball and football in high school, and graduated Holdenville High School with in the Class of 1988. Immediately following graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and enjoyed riding bulls while stationed in Germany. He served in Desert Storm and was honorably discharged from the Army after serving four years. He later returned on two separate occasions as a civilian, supporting the military in Afghanistan. At home in the States he worked thirty years for the McAlester ammunition plant until he recently retired due to health reasons.
Kevin loved his life as a cattle rancher, he loved hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Oklahoma Sooners and Green Bay Packers. He loved coaching football and baseball for the Holdenville Little League. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and attended Penn West Baptist Church when his health permitted. He was dearly loved and he'll be missed.
He is preceded in death by his bonus mom, Donna Peace, whom he loved so much; his paternal grandparents, Frank & Imogene Peace, and maternal grandparents, C. B. & Lorena Hardwick;
He is survived by three children: Mollee Peace of McAlester, Keagan Peace (Felicia) of the USS Nimitz in Seattle WA, and Eric Peace of Holdenville; his mother and stepfather, Dona & Jimmy Rawson, of White Hall AR; his father and stepmother, Lindal & Betty Peace, of Holdenville; sister Becky Romberg (Charlie) of Holdenville; two brothers, Billy Hendricks of White Hall AR and Ritchie Hendricks of Vilonia AR; two nephews Adam Romberg (Jordan) and Bryce Romberg; three nieces Rhemi Romberg, Addie Romberg, and his special little buddy, Timber Romberg; other family member and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Penn West Baptist Church in Holdenville, and Kevin was laid to rest with military honors at Holdenville Cemetery. Rev. David Pope was the officiating minister. Pallbearers were Robbie Armstrong, Mike Sherrin, Ronald Peace, Kent Blaylock, Brent Blaylock, and Adam Romberg. Honorary pallbearers were Ben Hardwick, Jeffrey Hardwick, Garren Murray, and Chris Epperley.
