Kenneth Lloyal Conn Sr. passed away from this life in Holdenville, Oklahoma on January 2, 2020. He was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on March 13, 1947, to Lloyal Conn & Helen (White) Conn. On April 5, 1968 he married the love of his life, Mary Margaret Jones. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, parents, stepmother Maurine Conn, paternal grandparents Ed and Bonnie Conn, maternal grandparents Samuel and Martha White, and his son, Kenn Jr. He leaves behind his daughter, Amy Conn McDaniel, granddaughter Skylar Meeks and husband Dalton Meeks, great grandsons Chevy Lee Meeks and Tate Lloyal Meeks, as well as a host of family and friends.
Kenneth was a proud member of Holdenville High School class of 1965 and was a member of the only Holdenville Football team to win the state championship. He graduated from East Central State College with a degree in accounting. He was a member of the Army National Guard and Air Force Reserves. He began his career as an internal Auditor for J. C. Penney Company in Texas in 1969. He later worked in auditing for Champlin Petroleum in Enid, Coastal States Gas Producing Company in Corpus Christie and Houston, Texas in 1974. He was the Senior North Slope Site Auditor for British Petroleum in Alaska in 1974 and 1975. He became Director of Auditing for Northern Natural Gas in Omaha, Nebraska, and Houston, Texas from 1975 to 1981. In 1981 he moved his family back to Holdenville and started Conn's Joint Venture Auditing as a Petroleum Audit Consultant. In 1994 he began working as an Auditor for the State Department of Health in Oklahoma City. He also had his own tax preparation business which he ran until his health would no longer allow.
Kenneth was a champion tennis player in his younger years, and winner of several tournaments. He had a lifelong love of Southern Gospel music, and enjoyed traveling to attend Gaither Homecoming events. He was a proud member of Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church here in Holdenville, holding several different positions including the "sound man" upstairs.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church, and Kenneth was laid to rest at Holdenville Cemetery with Rev. Robert Foos officiating. Pallbearers were Travis Black, Woodrow Black, Dalton Meeks, Mitch Smith, Michael Jones, and William Weaver. Honorary pallbearers were members of HHS class of 1965.
