Johnnie Mildred Hall passed away peacefully at her home in Allen in the early morning on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at the age of 82 years.

Johnnie was the daughter of Harles & Jewel Irene (Johnson) Caldwell, born on August 25, 1935, in Bigelow, Arkansas, where she was brought up and attended schools. She was a graduate of Bigelow High School. She was married to Robert Louis Hall on April 28, 1961, in Perryville, Arkansas. They lived in Arkansas and in Oklahoma City before moving to Panola, Oklahoma, their home for many years. After her husband passed away on November 25, 2000, Johnnie remained in Panola until her health failed and she moved to Allen in 2008, to be with her daughter.

Johnnie was an old-fashioned southern lady, particular about the clothes she wore, and never felt that she was properly dressed up without a hat. She loved the Lord, and loved life. At heart she was a homemaker first, and used to say she spent most of her time "halfway between the clothesline and the kitchen stove." She loved cooking, especially for her family, and made nearly everything in a cast iron skillet. She made everything from scratch and refused to use a mix - until she discovered Betty Crocker cherry chip cake mix, which she loved, and happily accepted. Her daughters fondly remember hundreds of cherry chip cupcakes Johnnie made for them, for their friends, and for countless school activities. Johnnie enjoyed decorating her home, and had an extensive collection of cookie jars. She loved working outdoors as well, growing flowers and gardening, and taking pictures.

She loved people, never met a stranger, and greeted everyone she talked to with, "God bless you, have a good day." She loved visiting with customers when she worked at Fern's Restaurant. She loved listening to Gospel music, talking about the Lord, and sharing God's word with people. For more than fifty years she was a dedicated and very active member of the Panola Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School classes and helped with Vacation Bible School, and with any other church activity she could be involved in.

She enjoyed being involved in community activities as well. She was a member of Rocky Point Homemakers Extension Club, and participated every year in the Lutie Coal Miners Parade, among others. She was extremely patriotic, deeply loved her country, and was always proud of her Voter ID card.

Alzheimer's disease gradually took away Johnnie's health and mobility, and finally her memory, except for one thing: in spite of her confusion and uncertainty, Johnnie always remembered Jesus's name. She left her family with precious memories, and she will be loved and remembered always.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harles & Jewel Caldwell; three sons: Jimmy David McKinney, Billy Jack McKinney, and Bobby Hank McKinney; husband Billy Jack McKinney; her husband of forty-seven years, Robert Louis Hall; sister Harlene Lloyd and brother Bobby Caldwell

She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Storts (Larry) and Lisa Hall, all of Allen; her sister, Glenda Sue Simmons (Bill) of Oppelo AR; thirteen grandchildren, including Danielle Tate of Oklahoma City and Lance Tate of Ada; 10 great grandchildren, including Shaylee Tate of Ada; five nephews and three nieces; her best friend for many years, June Newsom of Panola; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 26, 2018, 1:00 p.m. at the Waldrop Funeral Home Chapel in Wilburton, Oklahoma, and Johnnie was laid to rest at Lutie Cemetery in Wilburton, with Rev. Howard Head officiating. Pallbearers were Danny Foster, Lance Tate, Justin Adams, Tyler Adams, David Grogan, and Wayne Grogan.
