Obituary

Johnnie Douglas 'Doug' Beckett passed away in Oklahoma City on Monday, October 21, 2024, at the age of 72 years.

Doug is the son of Johnny D. Beckett & Mary (Thompson) Beckett, born on January 20, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in Oklahoma City, and lived there until moving to Enid in 1992. After fourteen years in Enid, he returned to Oklahoma City in 2006. He worked for many years self-employed as a small engine mechanic, and also worked for Ernie's Superstore. He enjoyed working, tinkering, putting things together. He had an uncanny ability to fix anything and was always looking for something to repair. He loved repairing, refurbishing and riding motorcycles.

Doug is preceded in death by his father, Johnny D. Beckett, and one brother, Dannie Beckett.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Beckett Murray; his wife, Bonnie Beckett, of the home; three children: Erin Aragon of Pueblo, Colorado, Billy Beckett & fiancé MaryKathryn of Waukomis; Breezie Hughes (D. J.) of Enid; four stepchildren: Mike Tucker (McKenzie) of Hennessey, Dolly Tucker of Waukomis, Terri Tucker of Enid, and Sean Tucker of Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Autry (John) of Blanchard, and Deanna Beckett of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Dennis Beckett (Debbie) of Blanchard, and Derwood Beckett (Marcy) of Little Axe; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Graveside services were held and Doug was laid to rest at Little Cemetery, Little, Oklahoma, at 1:30pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024, with Rev. Mike Tucker officiating. Family members served as pallbearers.
