Obituary

Joe Lambert passed away in Oklahoma City on Monday, October 29, 2018, at the age of 74 years.

Joe was the son of Claude & Stella (Moore) Lambert, born on December 19, 1943, in Wanette, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in Oklahoma and California, as the family made numerous trips back and forth between the two states. Most of his adult life was spent in the Oklahoma City and Tuttle area, where he owned and operated heat/air companies, Central Heat & Air and Lambert Heat & Air. For the past two years, he had made his home in Holdenville to be near his family.

Joe was married three times, and was the father of eight children. He was married to Maxine, mother of Carl and Phyllis; to Sharon, mother of Bobby and Tracy; and to Sue, mother of Terry, Mike, Tammy, and Brittany. He was a hard working and patriotic American, and although he never actively served in the military, he was a dedicated volunteer for the VFW in Oklahoma City. Some of his favorite things were fishing, playing music and singing, and playing games. He was friendly and outgoing, and very much enjoyed the company of other people. He loved playing dominoes, or skipbo, or phase 10, and he played often. He loved to sing and play music, particularly the bass guitar, and traveled the country as a member of the Spring Valley Band, later known as the Western Swing Masters. What he loved most was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude & Stella Lambert; two wives, Maxine and Sue; stepson Terry Boyd; son-in-law Kenneth Mitchell; siblings Ruey, Trixie, Freda, Geraldine, Ruby, Johnny Lambert, J. B. Lambert, Roy Lambert, Nelda Brown, Milburn Hubbard, Dorothy Jones, Gladys Wasson, and Christine Chris.

He is survived by seven children: Carl Lambert (Patty), Phyllis Ellis (Joe), all of Holdenville, Michael Dyer (Brenda) of Oklahoma City, Tammy Mitchell of Blanchard, Bobby Dehaberman and Tracy Dehaberman, both of Oklahoma City, and Brittany Galvan (Justin Arnold) of Mustang; 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Donna Boyd of Oklahoma City; siblings Wanda Stevens, Carl Lambert, and Betty Marksman; numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 1, 2018, 1:00 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel, and Joe was laid to rest at Yeager Cemetery. Rev. Brad Burton was the officiating minister. Pallbearers were Joey Ellis, Jonathan Ellis, Jeffrey Lambert, Jason Lambert, Christopher Rogers, Jarrad Rogers, and Xavien Garner.
