Jo Ann Baldwin passed away in Shawnee, Oklahoma on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the age of 85 years.

Jo Ann is the daughter of Gid & Vera (Sweatman) Mooney, born on November 27, 1938, in Non, Oklahoma. She was brought up in the Non and Gerty area and attended Gerty schools, graduating Gerty High School with the Class of 1956. She attended East Central University in Ada and earned a Bachelors Degree in Education. She was married to William Doyle Baldwin on March 1, 1972. They traveled the State of Oklahoma grading peanuts, and graded tomatoes in Arkansas. They lived in Atwood until 1985 when they moved to Eufaula, where Jo Ann worked as a substitute teacher for Eufaula schools. In later years, they spent winters in South Texas and summers in Branson, Missouri. Jo Ann was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Eufaula. Some of her favorite things were fishing and gardening, and she loved having lunch at the senior citizen center, and dancing at the VFW on Saturday nights. Due to failing health, she moved in February of 2023 to be near her son in Ada.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gid & Vera Mooney; her husband of forty-four years, Doyle Baldwin; brother G. H. Mooney, and sister Norma Burditt.

She is survived by three children: Kay Milam (Babe) of Chandler, Ray Baldwin (Fran) of Eufaula, and Tony Mooney of Ada; two sisters, Mary Guinn of Coalgate, and Brenda McDonald of Gerty; four grandchildren: Rusey, Leslie, Carter, and Micah; three great-grandchildren: Layne, Korbyn, and Lily; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services were held and Jo Ann was laid to rest at Non Cemetery on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ronnie Drake officiating.
