Jimmy Wayne Inman was born March 18, 1937 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. Shortly after his 80th birthday, he died peacefully in his home surrounded by those he loved on March 29, 2017.
After a short courtship of three months, Jim knew Nancy Cook was the love of his life and they were married in California on July 25, 1964. Jim and Nancy's love for each other grew stronger each year through the good times, challenging times, and remained strong for fifty-two years.
Jim was a wonderful provider for his family and worked many long days and hours to assure their needs were met. He enjoyed roughnecking and truck driving.
Jim was highly respected within the community and was very grateful for the friends within the community who came to his aid during times of need. After a major surgery twelve years ago, Jim was unable to drive semi trucks. Don Flint heard of Jim's situation and offered him a job driving a dump truck and allowed Jim to work the hours needed to meet Jim's physical needs. Soon Jim was able to go from a few hours a day to forty hours per week. Don's kindness helped save Jim's spirit and drive to continue to provide for his family. The Inman family will always be thankful for Don Flint.
During Jim's last days, he visited Nichols Bakery and was very thankful for the friendship that was created with Betty and Robert. They were very uplifting when Jim came to visit.
Jim always enjoyed caring for his lawn and pasture. He loved it so much that one of his last requests was for his son to make sure his tractor had plenty of fuel.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Odas 'Ode' Inman and Anna Allen; brother and sister-in-law Leon & Edna Inman; two sons: Craig and Phillip; also a daughter-in-law, Vicki Inman.
Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy Inman, of the home; two sons, Tim and wife Lori Inman of Holdenville, and Odas and wife Tami Inman of Tuttle; Jim loved his four grandchildren Jeana, Melissa, Dakota, and Sierra Inman, and two great-grandchildren, Della, almost three years, and Trenton, six months; also his brother Robert and wife Darla of Ada.
Jim is to be cremated and a Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 8, 2017, at Fisher Funeral Home's Lillye Chapel. Rev. Frank Moppin will officiate. Family and friends are encouraged to share stories at the service of their memories of Jim, either in person or in written form to be read aloud by the minister. The Inman family is grateful for your contribution.
