Jesse Edmond 'Eddy' Taylor Jr. passed away at his home in Maud, Oklahoma on Monday, November 27, 2023, at the age of 71 years.

Eddy was the son of Jesse Taylor Sr. & Christine (Roberts) Taylor, born on April 4, 1952, in Wewoka, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended school in Fort Worth, Texas area and graduated from Clear Creek High School in League City, Texas, with the class of 1971.

Eddy worked on a shrimp boat in the Gulf from 1969-1970 and then drove a dump truck in the La Porte, Texas area before moving to Oklahoma where he worked in the oil field as a rough neck and rig up driver for various oil companies including John L. Lewis of Sasakwa and for Mathews Exploration from 1995-2000.   In 2000, Eddy started and operated J. Taylor Productions from 2000-2010 where he took care of his own wells.

Eddy married Cynthia Meltz in Wewoka, Oklahoma and they have lived in there current home near Maud, Oklahoma for many years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping, but he especially enjoyed his grandkids

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse & Christine Taylor; sister, Linda Cheryl Taylor; sister-in-law, Beverly Taylor; and mother of his daughter, Connie Taylor.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia, of the home; one daughter, Cheryl Brewer of Holdenville; stepson Brent Matthew Webster, of the home; four grandchildren: Cody McCoy, Jordan Brewer, David M. Brewer, and Ronnie Brewer; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Taylor of Sasakwa; one niece, Jessica Taylor of Sasakwa; a special friend he regarded as a brother, Jimmy Owens; nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, other relatives, and many friends.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, 1:00pm at Fisher Funeral Home-Lillye Chapel, with Rev. Tommy Azlin officiating.
