Jerry is the son of George & Bessie (Cooley) King, born on November 25, 1941 in Osage, Oklahoma. He was a "Railroad Brat" and grew up in various parts of the Midwest following his father's railroad occupation. The family lived in Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Jerry worked various seasonal jobs in northern California while attending the University of California at Chico 'Chico State', where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1994.
