Jonathan Jay Siemens passed away at his home in Holdenville on Friday, March 16, 2012, at the age of 55 years.
Jay was the son of John & Marjorie (Myrick) Siemens, born on February 1, 1957, in Bakersfield, California. He graduated Shafter High School in 1975. He met the love of his life, Roberta Mosby, in November, 1981. Jay & Roberta were married February 16, 1985, and were blessed with four children: John, Suzanne, Jay Matthew, and Stephanie, and three beautiful grandchildren: Michael, Isaac, and Claire.
Jay has been employed by the city of Holdenville since the family moved to Oklahoma in 2007. He was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church, where he also taught Sunday School class. He enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. He loved to fish, and won the church fishing tournament every year.
Jay is preceded in death by his father, John Siemens, grandfather John Sloas, and grandmother Mabel Sloas.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta; four children: son and daughter-in-law, John & Monica, daughter Suzanne, son Matthew, and daughter Stephanie; three grandchildren: Michael, Isaac, and Claire; his mother, Marjorie; two sisters, Pam Garcia and Sylvia, and one brother, Gary; grandmother Ovida Sloas; various other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 23, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, and Jay will be laid to rest in the Holdenville Cemetery. Rev. Earl Scroggins is the officiating minister. Pallbearers are Roy Woolard, Mike Dockery, Ty Lowe, Garrett Lowe, Jim Bob Martin, and Waylon Ford. Honorary pallbearers are the City of Holdenville Police and his brothers in Christ.
