Janice Jean Helt passed away in Weatherford, Oklahoma on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the age of 76 years.
Janice was born on January 17, 1949 in Lamar, Oklahoma to Jess & Neoma Skipworth. She attended Lamar and Moss schools. She and her first husband, William 'Boots' Martin, raised three sons in Lamar: Mike, Randy, and Keith. Janice worked several years for Holdenville General Hospital and at Seamprufe in Holdenville. She worked for the Wichita Tribe in Hinton, Oklahoma, and retired in 2016 so she and Tommie could go fishing. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going to garage sales and casinos. She and Tommie enjoyed spending time in Colorado visiting their son Keith, and also enjoyed managing an RV park in Fairplay, Colorado. Janice was a member of the Lamar Pentecostal Church, and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Weatherford. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Tommie Helt, of the home; her son and daughter-in-law, Keith & Kacey Martin of Greeley CO; grandchildren: Cameron Martin, Sara Martin, Tasha Matthews, Saylem Martin, James Martin, Machala Martin, Miranda Martin, Jordan Blum, and Payton Rose; twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, December 27, 2025, 1:00pm at First Baptist Church in Lamar, and Janice was laid to rest at Lamar Cemetery with Rev. Marla Chesser officiating. Pallbearers were Cameron Martin, James 'Bubba' Martin, Stephen Matthews, Jami Skipworth, Jimmie Jett, Keith Martin. Dale Gann was honorary pallbearer.
